· Perenniality ·

Go to the base of a tree and examine its bark, the way it twists and intertwines within itself, always reaching higher and higher. Imagine the years upon years it has taken for this seed to become such a grand, sage creature  and the events it has endured. Think of yourself: the events that you have endured and how they have affected you, intertwining themselves into your own being, whether they forced you to grow outward, upward, or toward the ground. Remember, we are not perennial beings.

Perenniality: the state of lasting or existing for a long or apparently infinite time; enduring or continually recurring
